Ø MIP is a Provincia di Torino initiative set up in April 1994 within the contribution of SPEC community programme
Ø The service, initially structured as an information desk, has evolved in an organized process of accompanying measures, support to the elaboration of business plan and mentoring after the start-up phase
Ø Since December 2002, Mip is funded by the European Social Fund, the Region Piedmont and the Italian Ministry of Labour, allowing to increase and complete the services and realize a territorial network of public desks dedicated to enterprise creation.

- 2008-2010 Activity “Integrated Enterprise Creation Paths” of Piedmont’s Objective 2 Regional Operational Programme EFS.
Ø Mip actions are: free on line and telephone support service, information activities, publications and guides production, and activities targeted to would-be entrepreneurs
Ø Mip service is technically implemented by a Temporary Association of Enterprises:
• Leader: Codex – Development Agency
• Technical-scientific partners: Bioindustry Park, Environment Park, Virtual Reality & Multimedia Park; I3P, 2I3T (Incubators);
• Trading Associations partners: Ascom, CNA, Confcooperative, Lega Cooperative
• Consulting firms partners: Poliedra S.p.A.
Ø Welcome meetings: first meeting with a tutor to illustrate the business idea and to get advise on how to convert it into a business project
Ø Accompanying actions: follow up to assess the project’s feasibility and to work out the business plan. Meetings with experts (technical, marketing, legal-fiscal consultants, etc.)
Ø Mentoring: consultancy after the start-up phase for a period that is not expected to be more than 24 months; periodical meetings with “mentors” and consultants

Mip funding opportunities 2002-2008
The companies established through the Mip process have granted:
Ø A financial support integrating the start-up phase income: 464,00 €/month, for the first 6 months of activity for a maximum of 5 company partners
Ø Partially refund of the start-up costs (forgivable loans) for a maximum of 5.164,00 €
Mip funding opportunities 2002-2008
The companies established through the Mip process and localized in objective 2 or phasing out areas have access to :
Ø a grant related to fixed assets: 25% of the total investment for a maximum of 50.000,00 €
Ø a financing without interest rate for a maximum of the 60% of the investment (not over to 300.000,00 €)
Ø bank loan for 15% of the investment.

The companies established through the Mip process have granted:
Ø A financial support integrating the start-up phase income: 3.000 €, for a maximum of 5 company partners IF they are unemployed
Ø Partially refund of the start-up costs (forgivable loans) for a maximum of 3.000 €
